Welcome to the Fleet – Berge Snaefell

Berge Snaefell

On 23 January 2018, Berge Snaefell was added to our safe and energy-efficient fleet. The 38,000 DWT vessel was equipped with a larger, de-rated and better-tuned main engine for enhanced fuel consumption.

Similar to sister vessel Berge Phan Xi Pang, she was fitted with environmentally friendly features, such as air-type stern tube seals, Marine Growth and Cathodic Corrosion Prevention systems. Berge Snaefell is the second handy-size vessel built from the Imabari Shipyard and eighth in our handy-sized fleet. Sailing under the Isle of Man flag, she carried hot rolled steel coils from Russia to Vietnam.

Named after Mount Snæfell, which means “snow mountain” in Norse, it is the highest mountain on the Isle of Man, at an elevation of 621 metres.
